Turning left out of T1 you must not mount your bike until the Mount Line. Marshals will be on hand to show you exactly where it is.
The roads range in terrain from wide, flat, well tarmac’ed stretches with great sight lines along the A82 and Haul Rd, to lumpy, narrow, newly resurfaced tarmac with blind corners and blind summits on the Old Glen Fruin Road.
The A82 can be a very busy road. Police Scotland are once again providing us with four officers along its length. If they tell you to stop you MUST stop. Failure to comply with their instruction will not only result in a DQ but will probably lead to prosecution. That said they are there to help aid the traffic flow and your progress, particularly at the large Stoneymollen Roundabout.
Only the Police have the power to manage traffic. Our Marshal team can only advise you of dangers and point you the correct way.
The route will be well marked, but ultimately it is your responsibility to know the way
The A82 is frequently used by buses and lorries. Take care.
PLEASE TAKE GREAT CAUTION THROUGHOUT but especially in all residential areas and narrow descents.
Be aware of other cyclists, pedestrians and animals on the road throughout the course.
The route will be signed with direction arrows and caution signs.
The use of earphones, ipods etc is strictly forbidden and will result in an immediate DQ.

HI.
I am assisting my girlfriend with her first sprint triathlon and I have to work out how we get her bike from Glasgow to Loch Lomond (both of us have small cars and currently no cycle racks).
I am unfamiliar with triathlon procedures so could you please confirm if it is possible to deliver the bike on registration and leave it at the transition point,on the Saturday or will we have to bring it on the day. I understand that it the bike can be left overnight it will be at out own risk.
Best Regards
Tom

Hi,
Sorry we don’t have the facilities and can’t accept responsibility for athletes bikes overnight.
My suggestion is hire a small van from Arnold Clarke Typically only costs £25 a day. Alternatively go onto our Facebook page and ask if someone can crasher with you.

Hello.
I am travelling from Aberdeen, and I am unable to make the Saturday registration. I was wondering whether it would be possible to register either on Sunday morning, or have one of my friends who is doing the triathlon to register on my behalf on Saturday?
The earliest I can be in the area on Saturday is around 9pm.
Let me know the best way forward. I have also emailed but not sure the address is correct as I have had no reply.

Sorry. Dispite several emails and posts reminding athletes about midfle and standard rego times we have been overwhelmed with requests for Sunday rego the past 24hrs. We can no longer facilitate extra requests without jeopardising the race start times since this would tie up too many staff required on course.

Would it be possible for someone to register for me on Saturday and pass all the race numbers etc. to me prior to the start of the race?

I’ve copied my above reply here as I’m not sure it notifies you. Sorry to be a pain but I need to work out my travel options for the race.
